Parnkuti Mahila Farmer Producer Companylimited

We are located over in Lonikand, in the Haveli taluka near Pune. It is mostly women from the village who started Parnkuti Mahila Farmer Producer Companylimited. We use Shri Sampat Bhagwant Kand’s house as our main point for getting together. Lonikand has changed a lot with the city growing closer, but we still have our fields and our work to do. Farming around here can be tricky because you never know if the water will be enough or if the market in Pune is going to give us a fair price for the vegetables. We spend most of our mornings out in the dirt, and then later we meet up to discuss what to do with the harvest. It is a lot of talking and sometimes a bit of arguing, but that is how things get done in a village. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us, the local women, trying to manage our own business for once. The men help out too, like Sampat Kand giving us the space to organize, but the main push comes from us. We handle the seeds, the sorting, and the loading. It is tiring work, especially when the heat hits around noon, but it feels better knowing we are doing this for our families. We are not trying to be the biggest company, just trying to make sure our kids have a better future from this land and the work we do.
