Our shop, Ambika Vegetable & Fruit Co., is at Shop No-95 in the Main Market Yard on Dindori Road. This is in the Panchavati area of Nashik, which is a very active spot for anyone dealing with produce. We get here very early, often before the sun is even up, because that’s when the market really gets moving. It’s a loud, busy place with crates of vegetables and fruits being moved everywhere. Our shop isn’t very big, but it’s enough for us to manage our daily sales and talk to the farmers who bring their goods in. We don't really do any fancy advertising. People just know we are here in the market yard. The floor is usually a bit messy with leaves and bits of produce, but that’s just how a vegetable market works. We deal with whatever is in season and try to keep things moving so nothing sits around for too long. Panchavati is a historic part of town, but the market yard is all about business. We have a small team, and everyone knows their job, whether it's weighing the goods or keeping the accounts. It’s a tough, physical job sometimes, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it’s just second nature to us now. We just stay focused on the daily market prices and getting things sold. There isn't much time for anything else when the trucks are arriving.
