If you’re driving on the Nashik Mumbai highway, you might pass right by us. We are in Surya Kiran Apartment, specifically Flat No 1 in Deepali Nagar. It’s a busy spot, quite different from the actual farms we work with. Padmayog Agrotech is our name, and we mostly handle the technical side of things for the farming community around here. Nashik is known for its grapes and onions, so there is always something going on. We aren't a massive corporation with a lobby and a receptionist. It’s just a small office where we spend a lot of time on our laptops or on the phone with suppliers. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. We started this because we saw that farmers needed better tools and better ways to manage their crops. It isn't always smooth sailing; sometimes the tech fails or the supplies don't arrive when they should. We have had many late nights in this flat, just trying to get the orders right. It’s a lot of stress, but when we see a farmer actually benefit from what we’re doing, it feels okay. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India, we just want to be useful to the people around Indira Nagar and the rest of Nashik. It's just us, working hard in a small room near the highway.
