Niphad Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is located in Nashik, right in the Kanherwadi area. We operate out of Charudatta Chember, specifically Gaikwad Class, Flat No 5. It’s a busy part of town. Niphad Farmers Producer Company Limited was started by a bunch of us who live and breathe farming. Nashik is the heart of agriculture in this region, especially with the grapes and onions. We spend a lot of our time coordinating between different farmers. It isn't always easy. There are a lot of arguments and long meetings in that small flat. We don't have a fancy board of directors with ties. We are the directors and we usually have mud on our shoes. We try to get the best for our members. Sometimes the market prices are just terrible and we have to sit and figure out what to do next. It’s a lot of pressure but it’s also good to be doing something for our own people. The office is often full of tea cups and stacks of registers. We don't really bother with decorating or making it look like a corporate office. It’s a practical space for practical people. If you come by, you’ll probably find a few of us arguing over a spreadsheet or talking to someone on the phone about transport. It’s noisy and a bit chaotic, but it is our company and we’re proud of it.
