Up in Borgaon Surgana, you will find us working. We are based at house 313, care of Chandrakala Kantilal Gavit. Our group is called Keshar Aadiwasi Mahila Shetkari Producer Company Limited. It is a very long name, but it says exactly who we are. We are women farmers from the Aadiwasi community here in the Surgana taluka. We decided to come together to manage our farming business better than we could alone. It is mostly about supporting each other and making sure our crops get to where they need to go. Life in Borgaon is tied tightly to the seasons. We work hard in the fields and then come together to handle the business side of things. It is not a fancy corporate setup. We sit down and talk about what we need for the next planting season. Being a mahila company, we have a good understanding of what our families and our land need. Surgana is our home, and we know every inch of these fields after all these years. We do not use big words or have expensive offices. Just a simple room in Borgaon where we keep our records and tools. We are proud of what we are doing because it belongs to us. It is about the work and the local community. We just keep moving forward, one season at a time, making sure the Keshar name stands for something honest and real.
