Kalpratna Agro Producer Company Limited is based out of Umrane in the Deola taluka of Nashik. Our office is at Ravindra Bapu Deore’s place, right near the Datta Mandir. If you know this area, you know it’s a major spot for the onion trade. Most of us here have been dealing with onions and other crops since we were kids, so we know the market pretty well. We formed this company because we wanted to have a bit more control over our own produce and not just take whatever price is offered first. It gets very chaotic during the peak seasons when the market is full and everyone is trying to sell at the same time. We don't have some big corporate strategy or anything like that. We just talk about what’s happening in the fields and what the prices are doing at the local Umrane mandi. It’s a very local, hands-on kind of thing for us. Sometimes we have long arguments about what to do next, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with friends and neighbors. We’re just regular people trying to survive the ups and downs of the agricultural market. We don't try to sound like experts; we just know what we see with our own eyes every day on the farm. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We just hope that by working together, we can make things a little bit easier for everyone.
