K Gopalghare Agro Producer Company Limited

Out here in Jalna, specifically in Mahakala, things move at their own pace. Our group, K Gopalghare Agro, is located at House Number 256. It’s a busy household most days. Ambad is a place where you really have to know the soil if you want to get anything to grow right. We aren't big city people with suits and polished shoes. Most of the time, our boots are covered in mud or dust, depending on if the rain actually showed up or not. People in the village know us as neighbors first. We talk over fences and meet on the dirt roads. The heat in this part of Maharashtra can be really tough on the plants, so we spend a lot of time checking the pumps and making sure everything is getting enough water. We don't have a fancy reception desk or a computer for every person. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting around a wooden table trying to figure out the best way to get our produce to the market without losing too much money on the transport. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark and talk. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from sunrise until the sun goes down. We just wanted to have a way to organize ourselves better so the local farmers have a bit more say in what happens to their hard work.
