Gopalratna Farmers Producer Companylimited is based over at Sanmitra Housing in Satana, which is in the Nashik district. We are using Bhaga Dharma Patil’s place as our main point of contact for now. Satana is a busy area for farming, and there are a lot of us trying to figure out how to get our produce to the right markets. This company wasn't started by some consultants or experts, just a few of us who were tired of seeing the middlemen take everything. We deal with whatever the local guys are growing, mostly onions and grains that are common in this part of Nashik. It’s hard work and the paperwork for the government is a real headache sometimes. We spend a lot of time sitting around the table in the housing colony trying to figure out the logistics for the next truckload. It’s not a polished business. We make mistakes, sometimes the deliveries are late, and sometimes we can't get the price we wanted. But we keep at it because there isn't much of an alternative for small farmers like us. People know where to find us if they have questions or if they want to join the group. We are just local residents who want to see the farming community in Satana do a bit better than it has been. It’s a slow process, but we are still here doing the work every day, one season at a time. It gets easier as we learn more.
