Ganesh Poha Industries

Ganesh Poha Industries is out at Plot A-38 in the Stice Musalgaon area of Sinnar Taluka. We are part of the Audyogik Sahakari Vasahat Maryadit industrial estate. It is a big name for a place that is basically just a row of factories and workshops. Our unit is dedicated to making poha from raw rice. It is a process that involves a lot of steam and pressure. The building is large because we need space for the drying beds and the heavy rollers. In the mornings, the whole place is filled with steam. We have a crew of men who manage the furnace and the soaking tanks. It is hot work, especially in the summer months when the sun beats down on the roof. We don't have any fancy reception area. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually have to shout over the sound of the blowers or wait until the lunch break. We get our rice from the surrounding farms in Sinnar. The business has its ups and downs depending on how the monsoon was that year. We keep a close eye on the grain because if it’s too dry, the poha breaks during the rolling. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make enough to keep the machines maintained and the workers paid. Most of us have been working in this estate for years, so we all know each other. It’s just steady, daily labor.
