Dwarkadhish Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group, Dwarkadhish Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located in the village of Nikumbhe in Dhule. The office is basically at House Number 639/1, which is just a regular home in the village. It is a very local setup, and most of us have lived in this area our entire lives. We spend a lot of time either out in the fields or sitting on the porch talking with the farmers who are part of our collective. Life in Nikumbhe is much slower than what you find in the bigger cities like Nashik. We don't have any big signs or fancy glass doors. It’s just a simple building where we keep our books and meet up to talk business. Dust from the village roads always seems to find its way onto our desks, so we are constantly cleaning. Our schedule follows the seasons, so when it is time to harvest, we are working from dawn until late at night. The rest of the time is spent on paperwork and planning, which can be tedious but is necessary. We deal with the crops that the local soil produces and try to make things work for everyone. It is tiring and honest work, but there is a good sense of community when we all pull together. We don't use complicated language or have long, boring meetings. We just discuss what needs to happen and then we go out and do it.
