Dhembre Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Nipani-Pimpalgaon. It’s a small village in the Ambad area. You have to ask for Shri Sheshrao Pandhrinath if you’re looking for us, as it’s basically run from his place there. We aren't a big organization with a lot of money. It’s just a bunch of us from the village who realized we could do more if we worked as a unit. Farming in Ambad has its ups and downs, and we’ve seen plenty of both over the years. Most days are spent either in the fields or sitting around talking about what needs to be done next. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just have our names and our word. Getting the company registered was a huge headache with all the paperwork and trips to the government offices, but we finally got it done. Now we just try to manage the collection of crops and see who is buying. It’s a very local thing. Everyone knows everyone else here. If someone’s tractor breaks down or the rain doesn't come, we all feel it. We are just trying to make sure the farmers in Nipani-Pimpalgaon get a slightly better deal than they used to. It’s not a lot, but it’s something to work towards. The office is just a room with some chairs and a lot of registers that we have to fill out manually every week.
