Our company, Deola Baglan Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located right on Kalwan Road in Deola. We are at house number 1352, which is convenient because it's right opposite the APMC gate. Being so close to the market gate means we see all the trucks and tractors coming in every morning. It’s a busy spot with a lot of dust and noise, but it’s the best place for us to be if we want to know what’s happening with the prices. Most of us involved here have our own farms nearby in the Deola or Baglan areas. We grew tired of just taking whatever price was offered at the gate, so we formed this producer company to try and get a bit more control over things. The office is just a practical space where we can meet and keep our records. It’s not very fancy, just a door on the main road where farmers can stop by. We spend a lot of time talking to the guys who bring their onions or other crops to the market. Some days the road is so crowded you can barely move, but that's just life in a market town. We are just local people trying to help each other out and make sure the farming business stays viable for the next generation. It’s hard work, but we are used to it and we just keep moving along every season regardless.
