Degaon Vishnu Chavan Farmer Producer is based in Ansing, out of House Number 1. We use Sandip Vishnu Chavhan’s place as our main point of contact for the group. This area in Washim district is mostly all farming families. We decided to start this company because doing everything by yourself is getting harder and more expensive every year. It’s better to pool our resources and see if we can get a better price for what we grow. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a house where we meet to talk about seeds and the rain. We don't have a marketing team or big budgets. Most of us have been farming since we were young, following our fathers. There’s a lot of paperwork to deal with now that we are a registered producer company, which can be a bit confusing at times. But we handle it as a group. Usually, you’ll find someone at the house checking on the registers or planning how to get the harvest to the market. It’s just us trying to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays for itself. Sometimes the weather is against us and sometimes it’s the market prices. We just keep going and try to help each other out when things get tough. If you’re around Ansing, just ask for the Chavhan house and you’ll find us. We are just local people working the land.
