City Fruit Company

City Fruit Company operates out of Gala No. 18 in the New Market Yard. We are located right on Rto Peth Road. If you know the market area, you know it gets started very early in the morning. We are usually there before the sun is even up, getting things ready for the day. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming and going all the time. Handling fruit means things move fast because nothing stays fresh forever. We spend a lot of our time checking crates and making sure everything looks right. It’s dusty and noisy in the yard, but that’s just the nature of the business. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. It is more of a practical space where we can load and unload easily. The guys here have been doing this for a long time, so they know the routine by heart. Sometimes the market is quiet, but usually, it is a bit of a scramble to get everything sorted. We deal with whoever comes by, mostly regular buyers we have known for years. There isn't much to say about us other than we work hard and try to get the produce where it needs to go. It’s a basic life, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills for everyone involved in the operation.
