Daravath Lakshmi

My name is Daravath Lakshmi and I live and work at H. No. 28, right on the Main Road. This is Lakshmi Nayak Thanda, which belongs to the Chivemla area. Being on the Main Road means there is always someone passing by, whether they are walking or on a bike. Our spot is pretty easy to spot because everyone knows this part of the Thanda. We’ve been here in the T. S. region for a long time. It’s a small community where everyone is basically related or has known each other since they were kids. I usually spend my days at the house or right outside, seeing to whatever needs my attention. It might be some small business stuff or just keeping the place running. We don't have fancy furniture or a big sign out front. People just know that H. No. 28 is where I am. Sometimes the cows walk past on the road and it gets a bit noisy, but that is just how it is in Chivemla. Life moves a bit slower here than in the big cities, and we like it that way. If someone needs something, they just walk up to the door and call out my name. We sit on the porch and talk about whatever is happening in the village. It’s an honest way to live, just being part of the neighborhood and doing what we can to get by every day.
