Chennakeshava School

If you walk down Bottuguda Road in the New Prakasham Bazar area, you’ll find Chennakeshava School right in the middle of all the market shops. It’s a lively spot in Nalgonda, especially on days when the bazaar is full of people buying vegetables and clothes. The school sits there as a bit of a landmark for the locals. Inside, the building has that lived-in feel, with some paint chipping here and there and floors that have seen thousands of footsteps. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have plenty of benches and boards that get plenty of use. The teachers here have a way of keeping things going even when it’s noisy outside on the road. You can hear the rickshaw drivers calling out and the general hum of the market while the kids are trying to focus on their grammar. During the lunch hour, the smell of home-cooked food fills the air because everyone brings their own box from home. It’s a very local atmosphere where everyone knows the shopkeeper next door and the person selling tea at the corner. We spend the day teaching and learning, and then we lock up the gates as the sun goes down and the bazaar lights start coming on. It’s just a normal, hardworking school in a very busy part of our town.
