Shahi Food Court

Our place, Shahi Food Court, is located in Durga City Tower on Nainital Road in Haldwani. There is a petrol pump right nearby, which is usually how people describe where we are. Haldwani is a gateway to the hills, so we see a lot of travelers stopping by on their way up or down. The tower itself is a busy spot with different offices and shops. We are just one of the businesses there trying to do our thing. We don't have a huge staff, just a few local guys who know how to cook and serve. The menu is mostly stuff that we know how to make well without too much fuss. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and wiping the tables because the dust from Nainital Road can get inside pretty easily. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have any fancy goals or big plans to expand. We just want to make sure the food is ready when people are hungry and that the lights stay on. Some days it is quiet and we just sit around talking until a customer comes in. Other days, like during the holiday seasons, it gets hectic with all the tourists heading to the mountains. We just take the good days with the bad. It is a decent way to live and we are glad to have a spot in Durga City Tower. The work is hard, but we are used to the routine of it now.
