G. S. Food Products

The village of Bailparao is where we set things up. It’s out in the Nainital district, so the air feels a bit different than the city. G. S. Food Products isn't a massive operation with shiny machines everywhere. It’s mostly us handling the bags and making sure everything is packed right. Some days are quieter than others, especially when it rains and the road gets a bit muddy. We spend a lot of time in the back area where the actual processing happens. It gets warm in there, and the smells of whatever we are making that day stick to your clothes. We’ve got a couple of old tables and some scales that have seen better days, but they still work fine for what we need. Neighbors walk by and sometimes pop their heads in to see what's going on. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the work we do every day. Dealing with food means you have to be careful with the storage, so we spend a lot of time checking the sacks for dampness. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving, but it keeps us busy. When the sun goes down over the hills, we lock up the shutters and head back. It's just a simple life running a food business in a village like this. We don’t think much about being big, just about getting the orders ready on time and keeping the place running.
