Shruti Beauty Parlours

Shruti Beauty Parlours has its home in the Kolte Complex, which is right in the middle of Dharampeth here in Nagpur. This part of the city is always moving, so there is never a dull moment outside the shop window. We’ve been operating from this same spot for quite a long time now. The parlour itself is just a simple room with the basic equipment we need for haircuts, threading, and skincare. Being in the Kolte Complex means we get a lot of walk-in customers who are already in the area for shopping or work. It’s not a very big space, so things can feel a bit tight when we have three or four people waiting at the same time. I usually start the day by cleaning the mirrors and setting out the towels. The walls are a plain color and we have a few pictures of different hairstyles pinned up for people to look at. We don't use any high-end machines or anything like that; it’s mostly just hand tools and the products we’ve used for years. Most of our regulars are women from the surrounding Dharampeth neighborhood who have been coming to us since they were younger. It’s a very local feel here. We talk about the weather or the local news while I work. It is a straightforward business where we focus on getting the job done right so people can get on with their busy day in Nagpur.
