It makes it easier to focus on the land development side of things without too much distraction. Our office feels a bit like a home, mainly because it’s in an apartment building. We have the kitchen area for making tea and a couple of rooms turned into workspaces. It’s usually full of maps and site surveys spread out on every flat surface we can find. We spend a lot of time talking to landowners and looking at how we can put together new projects. It's not a fast-paced corporate life with people in suits everywhere. We're more likely to be seen in casual clothes, coming back from a dusty site visit or heading out to meet a lawyer about a land title. The stairs up to the third floor keep us a bit active, though the lift works fine most of the time. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, and the people around here know us. It’s a practical way to run a business, staying close to the ground and just focusing on the next project on the horizon.
