Prem Salon

Prem Salon is located out in the MIDC area of Nagpur. Since we are in the industrial part of town, most of my customers are the men who work in the nearby factories and warehouses. They usually come in during their breaks or right after their shifts end. It can get pretty dusty around here with all the trucks moving, so I’m always wiping down the chairs and the counter. It’s not a fancy part of town, and my shop reflects that. I have the basics—good scissors, sharp razors, and a couple of comfortable chairs. I’ve been here for several years now, and I’ve seen the area grow and change. The people who come here aren’t looking for anything complicated. They just want a decent haircut so they look presentable. I enjoy the stories the workers tell me about their hometowns or their families. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have a good breeze if the door is open. I do everything myself here. I don't have a big staff or a receptionist. If the phone rings, I usually can’t answer it if I’m in the middle of a cut. People just know to walk in and wait their turn. It’s a quiet life, mostly. I close up when the sun goes down and the factory lights come on. It’s just a small shop for the working people of Nagpur 440016. It's what I do.
