Prachi Mens Salon

This shop is right on the Rameshwari Ring Road in Nagpur. Since it’s on the ring road, there’s always a lot of dust and noise from the big trucks passing by. I try to keep the glass front clean, but it’s a losing battle most days. Inside, it’s just a straightforward setup. I have two big mirrors and two chairs for the customers. I focus mostly on men's haircuts and shaves. I don't do any of those modern styles that the kids see on the internet, just standard cuts that look neat. The light inside is a bit dim because one of the tube lights has been flickering, and I haven't had the time to go buy a new one yet. I have a small cupboard where I keep the capes and the shaving creams. The floor is made of old stone and it’s a bit stained, but I scrub it every Sunday. Most of my customers come in the evening after they finish their work shifts. They are usually tired and just want to sit quietly while I work. I use a manual clipper for the back of the neck because I think it does a better job than the electric ones sometimes. It’s a simple business. I open around ten in the morning and stay until late at night when the traffic on the ring road finally starts to thin out. It's just me here, working through the day.
