If you go to the first bus stop at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar on Jaitala Road, you’ll find our shop, Online Computer Services. It’s a small spot right in the middle of Jaitala where we help people with all sorts of digital tasks. Many people come in because they need to print out a form or scan some documents for their work. We have a few computers set up, and I spend a lot of time sitting behind the screen helping customers navigate websites that are sometimes hard to use. It’s not just about the internet, though. We also take a look at computers that are running slow or have some kind of virus. People bring in their CPUs and I open them up right there on the desk to see what’s wrong. The shop gets a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting for their printouts at the same time. I try to keep the printers filled with ink and paper so nobody has to wait too long. It’s a lot of sitting and staring at monitors, and sometimes the eyes get tired, but there is always something to do. The bus stop outside is always crowded, so there’s a constant flow of people looking in the window. We just keep things moving and try to solve whatever tech problem comes through the door each day.
