Nayan Gents Parlour

Nayan Gents Parlour is located right on Dunai Road here in Nagpur. It is a straightforward shop for men who need a haircut or a shave. I didn't want anything too complicated when I started this business. The road outside stays busy with traffic and people going to work, but once you step inside, it's just the sound of scissors and maybe a small radio playing softly in the corner. We don't have a big team or anything like that. It is usually just a couple of us working the chairs and keeping things moving. We know most of the people who come through the door because they live just a few streets away in the same neighborhood. Dunai Road is a familiar place for us. We’ve seen the shops around us change names and owners many times, but we’ve stayed right here. The shop is small, so you might have to wait on the wooden bench for a few minutes if it's a Saturday morning. We try to keep it clean, though hair tends to get everywhere when it's really busy. I like the routine of it. You sharpen the razor, you talk to the customer about their day or the cricket scores, and you finish the job. There aren't any fancy treatments or things like that. Just the basics that a man needs to look tidy and clean. Nagpur is a big city, but our little corner on Dunai Road feels quiet enough for us to work. We just keep doing what we do.
