Gitashree Salon

Gitashree Salon is right near Chatrapati Chowk on the Ring Road. If you are coming from the Pulliya, we are easy to spot. It’s just a small shop where we do haircuts and shaving. I opened this place because I like talking to people and working with my hands. It’s not one of those expensive places where they give you tea and fancy magazines. We just have a couple of chairs and some mirrors. Most of our regulars live right here in Nagpur. They come in for a quick trim or to get their beard sorted before work. The fans run all day because it gets really hot in here. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but nobody seems to mind much. We use basic stuff, nothing too fancy or branded. It’s just a neighborhood spot. Saturday and Sunday are always busy, so people have to wait on the wooden bench outside. I’ve been cutting hair since I was a teenager. My hands are used to the scissors and the comb. Sometimes we run out of clean towels and have to rush the laundry across the street. It’s a simple life. We close up when the last customer is finally done. The Ring Road stays busy all night, so there is always noise from the traffic outside our door. It’s just how it is. We are here every day except for the occasional holiday when the family needs me for something at home.
