Desire The Unix Salon

The shop is called Desire The Unix Salon and we are located on Amvedkar Road at Kamal Chowk in Nagpur. The pin code is 440017 and this part of town is known as Mahal. Nagpur can get incredibly hot in the summer, so our salon is a place where people come to get out of the sun for a bit while they get their hair cut. Kamal Chowk is always buzzing with traffic and people selling things on the sidewalk. Our shop has a glass front so you can see the street while you are sitting in the chair. We have a few modern-looking chairs and some big mirrors that we try to keep clean of fingerprints. The floor is a dark color which helps hide the hair until we get a chance to sweep it up. We do all the regular salon things like cutting, styling, and shaves for whoever comes in. There is a small bench for people to sit on if they have to wait, and usually, there is a local newspaper lying around to read. We don't use any complicated systems, just a notebook to write down who came in and what they had done. The staff is just regular people who know how to handle a pair of scissors. It is a busy place but we like the energy of the Mahal area and the constant movement on Amvedkar Road throughout the day.
