P. V. S Exim

If you find yourself on Theppakulam Street in Azhagappapuram, you’ll see our door at No. 12/125. P. V. S Exim is just a small outfit working out of this space. We’ve got the temple pond nearby, so the air feels a bit different than the busier parts of the district. Inside, it’s mostly boxes and the sound of a ceiling fan that’s seen better days. We do a mix of importing and exporting, which means some days are all about receiving heavy crates and other days are about shipping them off. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine well. We try to keep things organized, but when three different shipments arrive at once, the floor gets covered pretty quickly. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving stuff, and checking labels to make sure nothing goes to the wrong city. We don’t really bother with big ads or trying to look bigger than we are. People find us through word of mouth or because they’ve seen our name on a bill of lading. It’s a practical way to run a business. We stay out of the way and just focus on the task at hand. The neighbors know us, and we know the tea shop guy around the corner who brings us drinks when the afternoon slump hits. That’s about all there is to it.
