If you walk down Vetrilaikaran Thiruvasal in Nagore, you will find us at number 14. We are the Nagai Collective Farming Producer Company Limited. It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, but it’s what’s on the papers. We are just a bunch of local farmers from around Nagore who thought working as a group would be better than struggling by ourselves. The office isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we sit down to talk about the season and what crops are looking good this time of year. Sometimes the rain holds us up and other times the sun is just too much, but that’s the life of a farmer here. We handle a lot of the logistical stuff that used to be a headache for everyone individually. Now, we just bring it all under this one roof. It gets busy during the harvest season and you can usually find a few of us arguing over the best way to move the produce or checking the latest lists. We don't have a fancy reception or anyone in a suit. It’s mostly muddy boots and people who have been working in the fields all morning. We started this because we needed a way to manage our resources better and it has just grown from there.
