Our place is located out on Diamond Harbour Road, specifically in the Konchowki Bhasa area. It’s part of the Bishnupur post office circle in the South 24 Parganas district. Being this far out from the main city has its advantages, though the commute can be a bit of a grind for some of the guys. At Macneill Engineering Ltd., we deal with a lot of heavy metal and greasy parts. The workshop floor is usually covered in oil stains and tools are scattered across the benches. It’s a loud environment with the sound of grinding and welding often filling the space. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and the building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. We don't spend money on fancy paint jobs for the walls or plush chairs for the office. We’d rather put that into keeping the machines running. The local weather out here in South 24 Parganas can get pretty rough during the monsoon, sometimes making the yard a bit of a swamp. We just put on our boots and get on with it. It’s practical work for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We don't have any big slogans or mission statements posted on the walls. We just take the jobs as they come and try to fix things the right way the first time. It's a long road out here, but we are always around.
