Chukki Chandrama Montenssori School

We have been here in Ramakrishnanagar for quite a long time now. You can find us at M I G 143, right near Sumitra Steel in the I-Block area. It is a quiet spot in Mysore, which works well for the kids. The school itself isn't massive, but there is enough space for everyone to move around without bumping into each other too much. We follow the Montessori way, so the rooms are filled with wooden stuff and natural materials instead of a lot of plastic. Every morning, parents drop off their little ones and the day starts with simple activities. It gets a bit chaotic sometimes, as you can imagine with young children, but that is just part of the daily routine. We do not have fancy uniforms or big yellow buses. Most families live around the neighborhood and just walk over. I remember when we first set up the building, the rooms felt so empty, but now every corner has something in it. We have small chairs and shelves that the toddlers can reach by themselves. Sometimes the rain makes the entrance a bit slippery, so we have to be careful with the mats. People usually find us by word of mouth or by spotting our small sign near the steel shop. It is a plain place. We just focus on keeping the kids busy and teaching them how to do things for themselves, like putting away their toys or pouring their own water. It is a lot of work, but we stay busy.
