Basappa Memorial Hospital

Our hospital is located in Mysore, specifically near D O Balasundaram. It’s a place that’s always moving, whether it’s early in the morning or late at night. We don’t have the shiny, sterile look of those big corporate chains you see in the city. Our building feels a bit more lived-in because we’ve been helping people here for quite a while. The hallways can be narrow and sometimes it’s a bit noisy with all the families coming and going. The staff here are just regular people from the area who work hard to keep things running. We deal with all sorts of situations every day, some easy and some quite difficult. There’s a lot of paperwork that goes into running a hospital, and you’ll often see nurses and clerks huddled over charts near the stations. We don’t have a PR person to make us look perfect. Sometimes the waiting room gets too full and people have to stand, which we don't like, but we do what we can with the space we have. The doctors are usually rushing from one room to another, and the smell of antiseptic is something you just get used to after the first hour. It’s a practical place focused on getting people back on their feet. We just try to keep the lights on and the beds ready for whoever needs them, without any of the extra fluff you find elsewhere. It's just about doing the job properly.
