Amritsari The Food People

We set up Amritsari The Food People here in Mysore a while back. We are located on the Hebbal Ring Road, right near the Bharath Cancer Hospital. It’s a busy spot with lots of cars passing by all the time. Being away from Amritsar, we wanted to bring some of those flavors down south. It’s not always easy finding the right ingredients here, but we manage. The shop is small and we keep things pretty basic. We don't have a big waitstaff or a host at the door. You just come in, find a spot, and we get to work. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long if we’re backed up on delivery orders, but we try to move as fast as we can. The kitchen is visible so you can see us working. We don't use a lot of complicated machines, just old-fashioned cooking methods. We deal with a lot of people going to or from the hospital, so we try to be quick for them. It’s a practical kind of place. We don't have air conditioning, just some fans that work most of the time. The menu is written on a board. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Mysore, we just want to be the place where you can get a decent meal without spending too much. It’s just us, the stove, and the Ring Road traffic keeping things moving every day.
