Rahman Brick

You can find us at 477, Kala Par, which is about four kilometers down the Roorkie Road. Rahman Brick is a local brick field where we spend our days making and stacking bricks. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There is a lot of mud and a lot of dust, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We have a small office where we keep our papers and take a break when the sun gets too strong. We don't have a big corporate structure or any polished managers. It’s just us and a few workers from the neighborhood. Most of our customers are people from the nearby towns who are doing some construction. They know us because we’ve been here for a long time. We don't do much advertising. We think that if you do a decent job, word gets around on its own. The weather is a big part of our lives. When it’s dry, we work long hours to get as many bricks ready as possible. When the monsoon hits, we have to pull back and wait. It’s a simple cycle that we’ve grown used to over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest brick field in the country. We just want to keep things moving and make sure our families are taken care of. It’s a practical business for practical people.
