New Rana Brick Field

New Rana Brick Field is over in Taluka Budhana, sitting near the Kamal Market area in the district. It’s a wide-open space which is necessary for what we do here. We spend our days out in the sun, mostly, tending to the kilns and making sure the bricks are drying properly. Being near Kamal Market is handy when we need to pick up supplies or if someone is looking for us, they just head toward that part of town. The ground here is hard, and we’ve spent many years working this particular patch of land. It’s not an easy job, and your hands definitely show the wear and tear after a while, but it’s what we know. We don't have a fancy office or any of that. Most of our talking is done outside or in a small shed we have for keeping the books. When the wind blows, the dust gets everywhere, but you just get used to it. We don't try to be anything we aren't; we are just a local brick field doing the daily labor that needs to be done. Some of the guys have been here since we first started, and we just have a routine that we follow. It’s a simple way of living, really, just focusing on the next batch of bricks and getting them out to whoever needs them in the district. There is no point in complicating things when the work is right in front of you.
