At Zicom Electronics Security System Ltd, we've been at Room No-37 in Charbi Chawl for a while now. It's right in the Pathan Masjid Compound, just behind Gynaneshwarvidhalaya. If you know Wadala West, you know the traffic can get a bit much on Sewri X Road, but we make it work. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything. It's just a place where we keep our tools and handle the security systems work. Most days it's just us figuring out which technician is available to go out. The school kids are always around during the afternoons, making quite a bit of noise, but it keeps the place lively. We started here because it was central enough to reach different parts of Mumbai without spending half the day on a local train, though that still happens sometimes. People stop by to ask questions about cameras or alarms, and we just talk to them like normal neighbors. There’s a tea stall nearby that basically keeps us running. It’s honest work, really. We don’t have some big corporate speech prepared. We just install the stuff, fix what’s broken, and try to keep things moving. The humidity here in Mumbai ruins a lot of wires if you aren’t careful, so we spend a lot of time checking on things. That’s pretty much us, just a small team in a crowded chawl doing what we know how to do. It gets a bit cramped when we have new stock, but we manage.
