Zafar Guest House

Mumbai is a city that never really sleeps, and our guest house reflects that. We are located in Building 158 on Jijamata Road, near the Pump House in Andheri East. It’s a very crowded area. We are close to the Zakaria Masjid and the Muslim Ambulance station. You can hear the prayers and the sirens throughout the day. The building is an old chawl style, specifically the Lata Thakarsi Chawl. It’s not a luxury hotel with a lobby and a pool. It is a guest house for people who need a place to sleep while they are in the city for work or family reasons. The rooms are small and basic. We spend our time changing sheets, cleaning the common areas, and checking people in at odd hours. Being in Andheri East means we are right in the thick of things. There is always water being splashed on the ground outside and people shouting to their neighbors. We have to keep an eye on everything to make sure it runs smooth. The plumbing is old and sometimes we have to fix things on the fly. We don't have a big corporate team, just us looking after the guests. It’s a humble place, but it serves a purpose for those traveling on a budget. We’ve been here for years and we know how to handle the daily rush of the city.
