We’ve been here at the Marina building in Girgaon for a while now. If you know the Sukh Sagar Hotel, we are right nearby on the second floor of Block 5/B. It’s a busy spot and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the machines running and the smell of fresh paper and ink everywhere. We started out with just one old press and now there’s more stuff crammed into the rooms than we probably have space for. The guys here have been working together for years, so we mostly know what needs doing without talking much. Some days the humidity in Girgaon makes the paper curl a bit, so we have to watch out for that. People walk in with all sorts of requests, from small cards to bigger stacks of papers. It’s not fancy, just a regular workplace where we keep our heads down and get the job done. We spend most of the day sorting through files and making sure the colors look okay on the page. It gets pretty loud when everything is running at once, but you get used to it after a week or so. Sometimes customers stay for a chat while they wait for their proofs, which is nice. We just try to keep things moving and make sure nobody leaves waiting too long for their stuff. It's a lot of work but we like it.
