Our workshop is located in Bhandup West, inside the Subhash Nagar area on Village Road. Specifically, we are at Gala No. 326, which isn’t hard to find if you know where Vishal Industrial Estate is. We are right opposite that big place. The space here is filled with packing materials and machines that do a lot of the heavy lifting. It can get quite loud when everything is running at once. We’ve got rolls of tape, cardboard everywhere, and the smell of industrial plastic is pretty much constant. The floors are concrete and have a few cracks from moving heavy gear around over the years. We started out small and just kept adding more equipment as we went along. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the logs and handle the paperwork, but nobody sits there for very long. Most of the day is spent on the floor making sure things are wrapped or boxed up properly. The neighborhood is busy with trucks coming and going all day. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door when it pours really hard, but we’ve learned to keep the important stuff away from that spot. It’s a honest living and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the machines. We don’t bother with much decoration because this is a place for work, not for showing off. You just come in, see what’s happening, and move on with your day.
