Worli Saloon

We’re over in Diamond Mansion on Ganpatrao Kadam Marg, right here in Worli. If you know where the Fishland office is, we are just near there. It’s a traditional kind of spot where men come to get their hair cut or a shave. We have the old-style chairs and plenty of towels ready. It gets pretty busy in the mornings and right after office hours because of where we are in Mumbai. The fans are always going to keep the place cool while we work. We’ve been here for years, and we see the same people every month. Some of the guys have been coming since they were kids and now they bring their own sons in for their first cuts. We don't do anything too fancy, just good, clean cuts and shaves with a straight razor and that thick lather if that’s what you want. There’s usually a newspaper lying around and some cricket on the small TV in the corner. It’s a place to relax for twenty minutes and get cleaned up. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and vendors, but inside it’s just the sound of scissors and neighborhood talk. We like being part of the Worli community. It’s a simple shop, nothing more to it than that. We just do our work, talk to our friends, and go home at night.
