Al Rahat Beauty Clinic

You have to look a bit to find us since we’re right behind the Monginis shop on the ground floor of Prabhat Kunj. Being in Room Number 3 means we aren't right out on the main street, which is actually nice because it stays a bit quieter back here. Al Rahat is a small setup. We’ve got a couple of chairs and some mirrors that we’ve had since we opened. It’s mostly local women coming in to get their hair done or to fix their eyebrows. We chat a lot while we work, mostly about what’s happening in the neighborhood or who’s getting married next. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we’re always sweeping. We don’t have those expensive espresso machines, but there’s usually some tea if you’re waiting. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just open the windows and keep going as best as we can. It’s a simple business. We don't use those high-end models in posters on our walls. We just use what works and what people like. It feels more like a living room than a clinic sometimes, with everyone talking at once. We like it that way. It makes the day go by faster when you’re among friends and regulars. It's just a regular part of life for us here at Prabhat Kunj, doing what we know how to do.
