Located out near the JVLR in Andheri Ast, our shop is usually a bit of a refuge from all that heavy traffic outside. We deal with wedding clothes and all the bits and pieces that go with them. It’s a lot of fabric everywhere—silk, lace, and heavy embroidery that catches on everything if you aren't careful. The lounge part is really just some sofas where people sit and argue about which shade of red is better for a dupatta. We’ve seen a lot of stressed-out brides and even more stressed-out mothers over the years. We try to keep things calm, but it gets frantic when a fitting doesn’t go right or a shipment is late. The light in the back room is a bit dim, which makes sewing difficult sometimes, but we manage. We've got a small kettle in the corner that's always whistling when we need a break from the sewing machines. We don't have a big marketing team or fancy brochures. People mostly find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a messy job, honestly. There are pins on the floor and half-finished garments hanging from the racks. We spend our days measuring, pinning, and talking to tailors who are always running behind schedule. It’s a local business through and through. We just want to make sure the clothes look decent and fit right when the wedding day comes around. That is pretty much it.
