About Wadia Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Mumbai
Parel is one of those parts of Mumbai that never really stops moving. Wadia Hospital has been a part of this landscape for a very long time. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though it shows its age in some spots. The ceilings are high and the hallways are long and winding. You see a lot of mothers and children here since that’s mostly what we handle. The atmosphere is loud, filled with the sounds of kids crying or playing and the general hum of a busy public hospital. We have people traveling from all over the state to get here. The wards are often full, and the staff is always on the move. It gets very humid in the afternoons, and the ceiling fans work hard to keep the air moving. We have a lot of history in these walls. The nurses know the layout like the back of their hands. It’s a tough job sometimes because there are so many people to see and never enough hours in the day. We don't have the fancy lobby of those new private hospitals, but we have a lot of heart. Outside, the street food stalls do a brisk business with the visitors. It’s just a part of the daily life in Parel. We show up, do our shifts, and try to help the families that walk through the gates every morning. It’s a constant cycle of people coming and going from our doors.
