Wadia Hospital

Wadia Hospital is located right in the heart of Parel. Specifically, it’s the Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hosp part of the grounds. Parel is a crowded area, and the hospital is no different. It’s an old building, you can see the history in the walls and the high ceilings. We have people coming in at all hours because that’s just how maternity hospitals work. There is a lot of noise from the street, horns honking and people shouting, but once you get inside the main gates, it settles down a little. The hallways are long and have that distinct hospital smell of cleaning fluid and old paper. We spend a lot of time walking those halls between the different wards. It’s not a fancy place with new furniture. The chairs in the waiting areas have been there a long time and they show it. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with every day. Nurses and staff are always moving around with clipboards. Families sit in groups waiting for news. It’s a very human place, full of life and sometimes a bit of chaos. You’ll see the name Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hosp on the signage outside, which is a bit weathered from the sun and rain. People find their way here from all over the city. It’s just a big, busy hospital in Parel doing what it has always done for years. There’s nothing polished about it, just a lot of work happening every single day.
