Vivan Medical

If you’re walking down Military Road in Andheri East, you’ll see Vivan Medical at Shop No. 13. We are right across from the Shanghai Hotel, which is a big landmark around here. The road is always moving with cars and bikes, and it can get pretty loud during the evening rush. Our shop is a typical local medical store. I spend most of my day behind the counter, reaching for boxes on the high shelves or talking to people about what they need. We have a lot of regular customers who live in the buildings nearby. They stop by on their way home from work or after visiting the doctor. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit crowded when three or four people are waiting at the counter. I try to keep everything in stock, but sometimes the distributors are late and I have to tell people to come back in an hour. It’s just the two of us working here most of the time. We don’t have a fancy computer system for everything; we still do a lot of things by hand and remember people's names. The hotel across the street brings a lot of foot traffic too. It’s a busy life, but I like being part of the Military Road community. It feels good to be the place people go when they need something for a headache or a cough. It's a simple business but it keeps us on our feet all day long.
