We are located at number 5 in the Vishwakarma Dham Co-Op Housing Society, right in the Alwin Compound at Yadav Nagar. If you know Sakinaka and Kherani Road, you know it’s a very busy part of town. There is always something going on outside our doors. Our space is usually filled with the smell of wood and the sound of tools. We make furniture, so there is sawdust everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a small shop, but we manage to fit a lot of work into it. We started this business because we like making things with our hands. It isn't a factory with machines doing everything; it's mostly us and our hand tools. Sometimes we work late into the evening when a job needs to be finished. The neighbors in the housing society are used to us by now. We try to keep the noise down during odd hours, but work is work. The Alwin Compound has a lot of little businesses like ours, so there’s a real sense of everyone just trying to get by. We don't have a fancy catalog. Most people just come in and tell us what they need, or they see something we’re already working on. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but it’s where we feel most comfortable. We’ve been here for years and hope to stay for many more. It’s just how we live and work in Sakinaka.
