We are located at Shop No 31/33 on B C Patil Marg, right near the DCB Bank in Mazgaon. This part of town is always moving, with trucks coming in and out at all hours. Our office isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the logs and talk to the drivers. Most of our day is spent on the phone, checking where the trucks are and making sure the loads are being picked up like they should. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes it’s stressful when a vehicle gets stuck in traffic or breaks down on the highway. We’ve been in the transport business for a long time, so we know the Konkan routes pretty well. The walls of the shop are covered with old calendars and maps. It gets dusty because of the road right outside, and it’s usually pretty noisy with all the horns and engines. We don't use any fancy software to track things; it’s mostly just notebooks and memory. The drivers stop by to get their paperwork and have a quick tea before heading back out. It’s a straightforward life. We just try to get the goods from one place to another without too much trouble. It’s not always easy, especially during the monsoon when the roads get bad, but we just keep at it. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for years and everyone around here knows where we are. It is just basic transport work.
