If you find yourself behind Sangeeta Cinema in Malad East, you’ll likely pass by Joshi House on Datta Mandir Road. That’s where we are. It’s a busy street, especially when a movie lets out or when people are headed to the temple. Our space isn't huge, but it fits everything we need for the day-to-day operations of the business. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some shops have closed, new ones have opened, but we’re still here in the same spot. The office gets a lot of dust because of all the traffic outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the morning and afternoon. We don’t have any corporate uniforms or anything like that; we just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. Usually, we eat our lunch together at the back table. You can hear the sounds of the city through the windows—horns honking and people shouting. It’s a bit noisy, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get through our list of tasks and make sure everything is handled properly before we close up for the night. Joshi House is an older building, so it has its quirks, like a squeaky gate and stairs that have been worn down by a lot of feet over time. We just keep our heads down and work.
