Prospect Engneering Work

Over at 4/2 Sainath Industrial Estate, the noise of machines is just part of the daily background. Prospect Engneering Work is situated just off Aarey Road in Goregaon East, which means we are right in the thick of the industrial action. It’s a gritty part of Mumbai, and our workshop shows it. We have grease on the floor and tools hanging from the walls in no particular order, though we know exactly where each one is. There is no air conditioning in the main work area, so we just keep the doors open and let the air move through while we work on the metal. It’s a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings; if you want to talk to us, you usually just find us by the lathes or the welding station. The estate is always busy with trucks loading and unloading, and the noise from Aarey Road never really stops. We’ve been doing this for a long time and the guys here are all skilled in their own way, even if they don’t wear uniforms. We don’t bother with "innovative" talk or corporate strategies. We just take the drawings we are given and turn them into parts. It’s loud, it’s hot, and it’s exactly the kind of place where real engineering work gets done without any unnecessary polish or pretense.
