Vikram Chemicals

Vikram Chemicals operates out of Office No 51 in Pipermintwala Chawl in Bhandup West. It’s not the kind of office you’d see in a movie; it’s a practical room in a busy chawl where we handle the business side of things. We deal with various chemical supplies and that means there is always a lot of paperwork to keep track of for safety and transport. The walls are lined with files and sometimes we have small samples sitting on the shelves. Bhandup West is a pretty active area, and the chawl is full of life and noise throughout the day. We have a small desk where we handle the orders and talk to the drivers who are moving the drums and bags around. It’s often quite warm in the office, so the ceiling fan is always on the highest setting. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the right chemicals get to the right people at the right time. Sometimes the logistics are a mess because of the narrow roads around the Pipermintwala area, but we’ve lived and worked here long enough to know the shortcuts. We take our breaks when we can and try to stay ahead of the deadlines. It is just a small, local operation where we show up, do the work, and head home once the last ledger is closed for the evening.
