Vijaya Laxmi Gold

We are located at Jai Laxmi Bhawan, occupying the space at number 360/364. This is right in the heart of the Marine Line East area, very close to the famous Kalba Devi Temple. If you know this part of Mumbai, you know how incredibly busy it gets. The streets are narrow and always packed with people, carts, and vehicles moving through the gold and cloth markets. Our building is an older one, with thick walls and high ceilings that help keep the heat out a little bit. Vijaya Laxmi Gold is right in the middle of all this action. The sound of the temple bells and the shouting of the street vendors is just the background music to our day. We have been here for years, and the interior of our place is very traditional. We have heavy wooden counters and some old chairs for people to sit on. It is not a modern showroom with bright spotlights and glass cases everywhere. It is a place that feels like it belongs to old Mumbai. We spend our time checking items and talking to the people who come in. There is a lot of trust involved in what we do, and being near the temple seems to fit that well. We drink small glasses of tea brought from the local stall several times a day. It is a hectic area, but inside the Bhawan, there is a sense of order and history that we really appreciate.
